Abstract: The interaction of Gallocyanine(Gal) with DNA was studied by using UV spectra and circular dichroism(CD) spectrum methods. Gal and DNA strongly interacted on each other in acid solutions. The intrinsic binding constant(K) and the binding numbers(CDNA/Cgal) of Gal and DNA are 2.25×104 mol-1 and 2.5, respectively. The influence of pH on the interaction of Gal and DNA was also studied.

Key words: Gallocyanine, DNA, UV-spectrum, CD-spectrum
