o understand the driving forces leading to mixed-ligand complexes in biologi-cal systenis.ternary complexes of M (ATP(L2- type, where M = Cu2+, Ni2+) or Co2+, and L= pyridine(Py), 4-picoline, 3, 5-lutidine, isoquinoline (lq) or benzimi-dazole(Bi) in aqueous solution were studied by spectropliotometry, some of them(M=Cu2+), L = isoquinoline or benzimidazole) were also separately studied hy po-tentiometric pHtitration. The results show that an intramolecular stacking interac-tion exists between the heteroaromatic ring of the ligands and the purine moiety of ATP.

Photon emission properties of polyphenylphenol (PPP) synthesized in the pres-ence of a newly-found enzymatic catalyst are reported. The photoluminescence peakexcited by the light at 350 nm is at about 370-420 nm.The absorption band edgesand photon emitting peaks of the polymer were found dependent on the conjugatedlengths of the polymer. In the transient luminescence measurement the lifetime of PLdecay was determined to be 2.0 ns which is supposed as the evidence of polaronexcitation recombination.

This paper covers the effects of γ-radiation on crystal transformations of Poly-(vinylidene fluoride)before and after drawing as well as during annealing process. The results show that the drawing results in a drastic increase in both crystallinityalong the meridian direction and β-form crystal content for the irradiated samples. When the drawn samples were irradiated under appropriate dose and then annealedat 140℃, transformation from β-form to a-form was subjected to an inhibition. The transformation mechanisms between the two types of crystals are discussed onthe basis of results of WAXD and DSC.

The axial coordination reactions of tetraphenylporphinatocobalt (Ⅲ) chloride(Co TPPCl) with various imidazoles RIm (HIm .imidazole; Melm, 2-methylimida-zole) were investigated in acetone and dichloromethand solvents at different temper-atures.The reaction mechanisms were proposed and the differences between experi-mental results in the two solvents h ave been interpreted using the proposed mecha-nisms and rate equations for the first time, and the reaction scheme for the axial re-action of the metalloporphyrin has been developed.Hydrogen bonding plays an im-portant role in the reactions. The effects of various imidazoles for these reactionsand the solvents are reported. The comparison between iron and cobalt porphyrinsin the kinetics are discussed.

The adsorption beliavior of lithium cation (Li+) on the surface of polyacenesemiconductor (PAS) molecule was investigated using quantum chemistry MNDO and CNDO/2 methods. There are two stable adsorption sites of Li+ over C=C bond and benzene ring center of PAS.In the second site, adsorption energy is larg-er.Lithium adsorbed at other sites can easily migrate towards the two sites.Thecalculation of EHMO-CO energy band structures indicated that after lithium wasadsorbed at other different sites on the surface of PAS, the energy gap of the sys-tem had a little increase in most cases, but when Li+ was adsorbed at the hole site ,the energy gap had a little decrease, which is in favor of furtlier improvement ofconductive property. As an electrode material, the hole site may be the best site of Li+ being adsorbed and desorbed.
