composite systems was studied. The investigation techniques used in this work included X-ray diffractometry (XRD), Scanning Electroscope (SEM), Transmission Electroscope (TEM), X-ray Energy Dispersion Analysis(EDAX) and High Resolution Electron Microscopy (HREM). Based on the experimental results, the relationship between microstructure and mechanical properties of the specimens was discussed.

The electrophilic substitution reaction occurring to the chelate ring of the complexes could be regarded as an indication of quasi-aromaticity of the ring systems, no catalyst was used and only triethylamine was employed, implying that the aroylating agents with different p-substituents are polarized enough to be effective electrophiles to attack the methine carbon of the electron-rich substrate 1. This property is probably the clue to polarization of the ligand electrons by the nickel(Ⅱ) ion and to the participation of the nickel(Ⅱ) in the π-bond systems of the two coordinated conjugated rings. The linearity relationship between vd-d maxima, E
1/2
OX(1) and σ
p
are obtained, respectively. The electronic environment of central metal ion as well as the aromaticity of the ring system are affected by the electronic properties of the p-substituents. A comparison of the electrochemical results with each other showed .that when the electronegativity of the substituent was higher, the oxidation(Ni

The method described in this work provides a sensitive and fast technique for investigating the primary structure of peptides with molecular weight up to 3340 amu. Usually, the metastable ion kinetic energy spectra (MIKES) and collisional activated decomposition (CAD) spectra provide complementary information for the FAB mass spectra, the MIKES and CAD spectra generally contain high-mass sequence ions.

A global optimum location algorithm called Variable Step-Size Generalized Simulated Annealing(VSGSA) was applied to treating the data obtained by using an array of ion-electrodes in solutions containing mixtures of Na

, K

. Unlike traditional optimization algorithms such as simplex procedure, VSGSA can be used to determine the model parameters without any priori information about the analytical system under investigation and overcome the disadvantage of simplex method which might converge to local extrema depending on the starting positions. The algorithm was applied to po-tentiometric determination of ions in mixture solutions.

This paper covers the construction and behaviour of a mixed binder carbon paste electrode system appropriate for the cathodic stripping voltammetric quantitation of iso-niazid. The mixed binder consisted of glycerol and liquid paraffin. At the mixed binder carbon paste electrodes in a pH 3.0 buffer solution, isoniazid showed two sensitive cathodic stripping voltammetric wave at-0. 75 V (p

An equation describing the state of weak acid mixtures was derived from the relationships between mole balance and charge balance. The equation was solved with numerical method and the compositions of the acid mixtures were determined. The advantages of this treatment were demonstrated by analyzing binary mixtures of chloroacetic, formic and acetic acids.

A new chemiluminescence amplification reaction has been developed, which is on the coupling of the oxidation of Eosin by hydrogen peroxide under the catalysis of HRP at pH 3. 5 to the chemiluminescent reaction of luminol and hydrogen peroxide catalyzed by HRP at pH 10 to measure the activity of HRP and labelled-HRP. The homogeneous system of 12-tungstophosphoric acid and diethylene glycol was studied using IR and NMR spectra. It was found that the protons in 12-tungstophosphoric acid formed proton oxonium ions with the hydroxyl oxygen in diethylene glycol by hydrogen-bonds, and the formed proton oxonium ions could react with the terminal oxygens of heteropoly anions. The dehydration-cyclization mechanism of diethylene glycol in the presence of heteropoly acid was also proposed.

The electroredox behavior of novel modified electrodes coated with complexes of different polyviologens was investigated using cyclic voltammetry. The influences of compositions of electrolyte complex on the reversibility of the modified electrode and the electrochromic properties were studied also. It was found that all the ratios of integrated charges of cathodic to anodic scan (Qc/Q
A
) are close to 1, which indicates that these modified electrodes have good reversible behavior. Repeated stepping over the first wave for 500 scans, the PSS-PX(p)V modified electrode showed excellent stability. The first reduction potential (E

), decrease of current height (Dec%), response time (t

Toluidine blue(TB) is a good sensitizer for the polymerization of acrylnmide(AM) induced by He-Ne laser. With TB as a sensitizer and various alcoholamine as donors, the photoredox of TB and the polymerization kinetics of AM induced by He-Ne laser were investigated. It was found that either for the photoredox of TB or for the polymerization of AM, the activity of alcoholamine increases in the order of EOA<DEOA <TEOA in TB-alcoholamine sensitized system. The overall apparent kinetic equations of AM polymerization at 30℃ have been determined. In addition, the molecular weights under various conditions was measured.
