Abstract: Acetacetic derivatives of fullerene were obtained by the reaction of C60 with acetacetic ester, after separation with silica gel column chromatography, in good yields. Fullerenols with 13-15 hydroxyl groups were isolated as the by-products of this reaction. Detailed experimental conditions and the structural characterizations of these new compounds were discussed.
