Abstract: A novel chiral polyoxometalate(POM), {[Na(Arg)2]NaH}[AlMo6(OH)6O18]·6H2O(1, Arg=L-arginine) has been synthesized by the reaction between Na3[AlMo6(OH)6O18]·8H2O and Arg in aqueous solution and was structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analyses and UV-Vis spectrometry. Compound 1 was an example of Arg based Anderson-type complex. Photocatalytic analysis indicates that compound 1 presents catalytic activity for photodegradation of rhodamine-B(RhB) under UV irradiation.
