Carbamate Synthesis from Aromatic Amines and Dimethyl Carbonate Using Lead Acetate as Catalyst

Abstract: In this work, we attempted the carbonylation of each of the aromatic amines with dimethyl carbonate to synthesize carbamates. We found that lead acetate is a very good catalyst for this carbonylation.
