Abstract: As a new carbon allotrope, graphdiyne(GDY) has shown intensive practical application prospects in the energy field, catalysis, gas separation, etc., due to its unique 2D π-conjugated structure, rich sp-hybridized carbon atoms and semiconductor characteristics. Considerable efforts have been made to the development of well-defined GDY materials in recent years. The doping heteroatoms can further tune the structures, semiconductor properties of GDY, and expand the promising applications. This review summarized a comprehensive development of heteroatom doped GDYs, including their synthesis, structures, properties, applications in nanotechnology, as well as the forecast in the future.

Key words: Graphdiyne, Carbon material, 2D material, Hetero-atom doping
