The First Total Synthesis of 16-Hydroxygeranylgeraniol

Abstract: The facile synthesis of 16-hydroxygeranylgeraniol(1), a naturally existing alicyclic diterpene, by alkylation reaction of allylic iodide(3) with phenyl sulfone(4), is described.
