Abstract: The adsorption behavior and description behavior of benzene, ethylene and ethylbenzene over HZSM-5 and Co/HZSM-5 catalysts were studied by means of TPSR (Temperature programmed surface reaction) technique. TPSR results of ben- zene and ethylene co-adsorption show that the maian products are styrene, ethylben- zene, toluene, propane, and butane. In a separate experiment of ethylbenzene ad- sorption, styrene . toluene and benzene are formed due to cracking and dehydro- genation. The mechanism of styrene formation was proposed, i. e., the reaction was carried out via. the dehydrogenation of mediate species ethylbenzene according to the results of TPSR-MS, activity testing and thermodynamic analysis.
