Abstract: The present paper covers tlie preparation and isolation of a series of monosub-stituted molybdophosphates Na5 [PZ(H2O)Mo11O39]·5H2O (Z=Mn2+, Co2+,Ni2+, Cu2+, Zn2+)by an improved method. These complexes were characterized byfull elemental analysis, IRspectra and UV-Vis.The studies show that the pre-pared products still keep Keggin structure and the substituting metal would belooated in coordination site.Based on this, their some pysico-cliemical propertiesrelated with their catalytic beliaviour, such as thermal stability and acidity proper-ty, were studied.

Key words: Hetropoly compounds, Lacunary heteropolymolbdophosphate, Charac-terlzatlon
