Abstract: 6-(2-Methyl-4-phenyl)-N-imidazole-2, 4-hexadiyn-1-ol was synthesized in a good yield by asymmetric coupling, and the corresponding intermediates were also prepared. The diacetylene monomer could be dissolved in common organic solvents. In addition, all kinds of conditions were also discussed effectively improving the formation of the diacetylene monomer.
