Synthetic Applications of Chiral Furanboronate

Abstract:

We recently uncovered that consecutive reactions of chiral furfaral-boronate 1 with a lithium alkoxide and a nucleophile led to the formation of alcohols 2 with good diastereoselection in favor of S-configuration at the newly generated chiral carbon.
