Isolation and Characterization of C-phycocyanin from Spirulina Platensis

Abstract: The isolation of biliproteins from the Spirulina platensis cultured in southern China was accomplished with gel filtration on Sephacryl S-200 and chromatography on hydroxylapatite. The spectrophotometry, isoelectric point, and amino acid composition of C-phycocyanin were determined, respectively.
