Abstract: Precise manipulation of surface topology has been being a great challenge for the fabrication of functional nanomaterials. Very recently Zhao and coworkers developed a surface-kinetic mediated multi-site nucleation strategy to precisely control the nucleation number of periodic mesoporous organosilicas(PMOs) on the surface of magnetic nano-spheres. The as-prepared mesoporous multipods(especially the Tribulus-like tetra-pods mesoporous nanoparticles) present high bacteria adhesion efficiency through multivalent interactions, which are expected to be the promising candidates for future antibacterial applications.
