Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) constructed from metal ions and organic ligands have been investigated greatly due to the variety of the MOF structures. Azolate type ligands are used frequently to synthesize MOFs to make zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs) with high stabilities. We synthesize a 3D MOF {[Zn(BBI)(MSM)(DMSO)]n, H2BBI = benzo-bis (imidazole), MSM = methylsulfonylmethane, DMSO = dimethyl sulfoxide}, constructed from tetrahedral Zn(II) and four-coordinated BBI ligand, with 11.27 ? 1D pore size. In this framework, considering Zn(II) as the vertex, and the BBI together MSM as the edge, dmp topology is obtained.
